WHERE TO RIDE ON MALLORCA – TO THE LIGHTHOUSE

If Sa Calobra is the king of Mallorcan roads, Cap de Formentor is the queen. Situated in the extreme north west corner and being the end part of the famous MA-10 road, some might argue that Paretti and his road engineers left the best to last.

Don’t underestimate this ride as after an initial flat on the depart from Pollença the road climbs, dips and dives its way to the lighthouse. Stop at the café lighthouse and savour the surroundings and the fortune to have a day of nothing else than pushing on the pedals under the blue Mallorcan sky. Time it perfectly in the late afternoon and see the sunset light up the rugged coast to the west.

Those wishing to add more after the peninsula can either follow the bay to Alcudia to spin out their legs or head inland to the villages of Campanet, Búger and Muro for some quiet agricultural roads.
